【a 動名詞】についてのメモ

たまたま読んでいた記事に【a 動名詞】という形があったので、単なるミスだろうと思いつつも、意外とあるんじゃないかと思ってCOCAで【a 動名詞 a】の形で検索をかけた。すると、97件出てきた。以下数例。

（１）The artist's work is often described as a having a geometric element, one that applies to his paintings in both locales.（雑誌）

（２）She's a small person to begin with, so I guess it's an easy thing to scrutinize, but that's probably one of the negative by-products of a having a successful show.（ニュース）

（３）That's a $7,000 difference. Not impressed? Imagine you are a making a higher level of income, and multiple your savings amount by 10 to $2,500 a month.（雑誌）

（４）A Experiencing a fierce appetite before your period is not an unusual occurrence.（雑誌）

良く知られているようにof動名詞では定冠詞がついたりなどということはあるが、さすがに【a　動名詞】というのは規範的に考えたらNGだろう。おそらくは誤用ということになると思う。が、意外と用例が見つかるあたり、ただのミス以上の何かがあるのかしれない。いやないか。それにしても、（４）の例ではeなのにanになってないあたり面白い。
